Mike Filsaime's Fish, Pole, Box & Buttons Wealth Strategy
Mike Filsaime let the cat is out of the bag. In his latest blog post about internet marketing he adds a uniquie twist to building success online. He explains the transition and the reasoning from the old biblical fable "teach a man to fish" to amass large amounts of wealth. Well not exactly. He relates four progressions in terms conversions (although I could not find that said expliciately) and refund rates to determine the effectiveness of four possible business methods.
The origional version “Give a man a fish; you have fed him for today. Teach a man to fish; and you have fed him for a lifetime” teaches a process. He concluded that the "teaching" method has a conversion rate 10% with a high refund request .
This next analogy is not listed in his blog, but it think this is what Mike means, “Give a man a fish; you have fed him for today. Teach a man to fish; and you can sell him fishing equipment.” So in this instance, his "pole" strategy has a conversion response of 20%. That is twice that if the teaching process and It has a meduim refund rate.
The third strategy is giving them a solution to the problem. Again, this is not on Mike's blog, I think philosopher Auren Hoffman said it best, “Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime. Unless he doesn't like sushi—then you also have to teach him to cook.” See by just teaching him to fish, you didn't solve the whole problem. What do they do with the fish? Mike declares that using this strategy of "everything in the box" expect about a 30% conversion and a pretty low refund rate.
Finally, the "button" strategy. Mike calls this the premium people will pay for because it makes it easy for them to get what they want. Here it is, just press that button. Filsaime suggests, "They do not just want the fish, but they want it cooked, served right out of the oven, with a great white wine, butter and lemon on to baste it, and some nice rice and vegetables on the side. And… They want it in a nice environment, and they want pay someone to do it right for them!" This is a turk key comprehensive solution to their problem with the convience of just touching a button. By focusing and leveraging your efforts in creating "buttons" is your business you can expect a conversion of 50% or more, with close to zero refund rates.
Chris, what does this mean? Well, MIke Filsaime is a mentor of mine and I have found his teachings to be extremely useful. He has created hundreds of sites and generated millions of dollars of online and offline. By observing his "fish finding secrets" and put them to use in your business, you too can truly enhance your wealth and live a more enjoyable life.
If you notice a charateristic about From The Desk of Chris Swain, is the use of the number seven. It just seems that if something really makes sense and should work, then there should be atleast seven reasons why. With that in mind, after a bit more research and treeking to Mr Filsaime's "fish" model three more instance to put to use were discovered.
Number five, “Give a man a fish; you have fed him for today. Teach a man to fish; and you will not have to listen to his incessant whining about how hungry he is.” Author unknown but does a good job of increasing your pschological wealth because of the stress and headaches you avoid in the process.
Number Six, “Give a man a fish; you have fed him for today. Teach a man to use the Net and he won't bother you for weeks.”anther unknown Author. In this instance you again increase your pschological wealth, while enriching the other persons intellectual wealth.
Finally, the seventh and most popular and acted upon approah. “Give a man a fish; you have fed him for today. Teach a man to fish, and he will sit in the boat and drink beer all day.” OldFox. This one speaks for itself, let's just hope your thinking of other ways to put this stuff to use while heeding that advise.
